Honestly as a long time fan of Dragon Quest/Warrior Monsters games, I was a bit let down. I think the individual zones having their own very small stories lead to an incredibly weak story with characters I did not care about. I dislike most of the characters and had no attachment to them. The music felt repetitive and the art felt very uninspired for a lot of the monsters. Overall the game felt much worse than the GBC version games in every way, art, story and music. The one upside of the game was the gameplay, once the fusions started rolling the game was very fun and it was rather easy to grind out. I would say I spent around 25% of my gameplay grinding and fusing, which is not a lot for a game like this. I don't see myself coming back to play this game unlike others in the series.
